Fear free is a term coined by Dr. Marty Becker that means we take into account the level of Fear, Anxiety, and Stress(FAS) when working with a pet and stop the procedure if the pet exhibits high levels and try later or implement other anti-anxiety reducing measures including training. First, we require you to fill out the new client form. This gives our groomers an idea of what we’re working with so we know how much time to book for your pet. We are in-home only so there are no kennels or barking pets to cause more stress. This time is reserved specifically for your pet. Then you will get a response with how much time your pet requires and can make an appointment by clicking the “Book Your Appointment Online” link on the homepage.

All our grooms are “all inclusive.” Our standard grooms include bath, brush, nails trimmed & dremeled, ears cleaned, de-shed/haircut(as appropriate). Upon request at no extra charge we will do war plucking and anal glands, but recommend these not be done on a regular basis as complications can result. We also do handscissoring on every pet to achieve a quality finish. We offer handstripping for the wire coated breeds(Airedale and Irish Terriers for example).

That’s going to depend on how much home maintenance you do between grooms(depending on breed of course). We will discuss that after we receive the new client form. But expect every 4-8 weeks. We require all clients to have a maintenance schedule of no more than 8 weeks.
-
We will spend the remainder of the time working through the part that is causing your pet stress with positive reinforcement training and treats. Then on your return we will come up with a plan for the future to best help your pet(training, happy visits, etc.)
-
That depends on your pet. We will give you an approximate time after filling out the new client form. Keep in mind, that the first groom may take longer than subsequent ones. We typically don’t expect more than 2 hours.
-
Yes! Whether you just adopted your pet or life got away from you and he’s now a mess, we can help. We have quality products to help get pets back into shape.
-
No. We will not demat pets as it is cruel, inhumane, and painful. If your pet is excessively matted we will let you know and they will be clipped short, allowed to start over again, and a grooming schedule for future visits will be discussed.
-
We highly recommend starting your pet with visits as young as 8 weeks of age. We use these visits to get them accustomed to the grooming process, introduce things in a positive manner, and start having them learn their grooming manners. These are positive visits with treats and praise as well. We typically start puppies with a “face, feet, and Fanny(sanitary area)” trim. These visits are typically 1hr visits.
